葡萄に栗鼠

葡萄と栗鼠はどちらも豊かさの象徴で、ブドウにリス→武道に律すということで
武士にも好まれた定番柄だそうです。
（ただし、リスは飲んでしまっています）

Both are symbols of abundance, and ‘Grapes and a squirrel’
（Japanese pronunciation: Budo ni Risu）has a double meaning of
‘discipline in martial arts’.
I made a print of this classic pattern that was also popular with samurai.
However, the squirrel is drinking!
